Arab playboys who fly over to London have their supercars flown over as well in a special chartered cargo jet for the mere cost of  up to £20,000 per vehicle. They are flown on a Qatar Airways Airbus A330 over 3,000 miles. The cars treated to the special flights include McLarens, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, with the owners of them often only being in the UK for a few weeks.

Supercars are flown on a journey from the Middle East to London often just for the summer or even for a couple of weeks to join their owners. The majority of the owners of the cars come from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait and they are quite happy to pay out £20,000 a time to be reunited with the favourite wheels while in the UK. When the cars arrive you can typically see them parked on the streets of Knightsbridge.

The Qatar Airlines service for flying some of the best luxury supercars in the world is only available between Doha to Heathrow. The cars are strapped to the floor of the A330, being situated in a side by side configuration or in a single row on the airplane. The airline has a main and lower deck and can carry 31 cars on each of the flights.

Recently at the Dubai Airshow the Qatar Airways Cargo A330-200F freighter proudly revealed the cargo-loading capabilities of the plane.

The managing director of Dan Car Logistics, Daniel Hallworth, who specialises in transporting supercars via air freight said that “The Arabs often use agents to arrange their cars to be flown to the UK – and some of these guys can have two or three cars that they bring over for just one month. Once here, they can legally drive it for up to two months. A lot of them tour – so they may come to London for a bit and then truck their vehicle to much sunnier places like Marbella to extend their fun.W

Dan Car Logistics is based in Manchester and transporting supercars such as a McLaren or Ferrari may cost as much as £5,000 for a return flight; a Bugatti Veyron costs around £6,000.

Some of the bigger cars, including a Rolls-Royce Phantom or a 4×4 cost more to transport, often in the region of around £7,000 to £10,000 for the return journey.

Some owners, many of them sons of sheikhs, often want to escape the baking heat of the Middle East for a couple of weeks and bring their cars with them.

Some of the most outrageous of cars that have recently been seen parked on Sloane Street included a blue Ferrari 458 Italia with a spider web wrap worth in the region of £150, 000. This was brought over to the UK by its owner from Qatari, who also brought an orange McLaren with a price tag in the region of £165, 000.

The cars were spotted in the centre of London following the end of Ramadan and as you might expect, they draw a great deal of attention from car fans and tourists. People are intrigued by the cars that have been tailor made from makers such as Bentley and Lamborghini.

There is often attention to be paid from the local police too due to the cars having registration plates unsuitable for the UK along with incorrect insurance and parking breaches.
